What inspired you to start your podcast?

My inspiration is twofold:

First, I had amassed a number of audio entries over a period of months and I thought it might be helpful to someone else if I shared a few of them via podcasting.

Second, once I started, a fellow artist asked if I would ever consider having guests. I obliged and fell in love with the medium as another creative outlet.

What's your process for creating a podcast?

My process always begins with genuine interest in the individual’s craft. I try to formulate questions that will showcase my guest in the best possible light. In terms of technicalities, it's always expedient to have a phone call if possible with my guests before recording. I believe it's advantageous to foster organic connectivity through conversation.

How do you find such a wide variety of people to interview?

Because I am also a visual artist and writer, I’ve been blessed with a deep pool to draw from. On occasion, guests also refer or recommend other artists. It's always a delight when that happens.

What are the key tools/items for making a podcast?

Having something significant to say is an essential impetus. It could be nonsense to others, but if you're passionate and find the topics interesting then it will be a most fulfilling venture. Avoid expensive equipment to begin - a phone and headphones are enough to get you started - create your own niche and have fun!

What's the best thing about hosting a podcast?

Connecting with other beautifully creative human beings. Everyone has something to share that can either inspire, educate or inform.

What's the most challenging thing!?

The most challenging aspect of podcasting is time management. Priorities tend to relegate the podcast to the bottom  of the totem pole.

Do you have any advice for people thinking about starting their own podcast?

Hosting a podcast isn't for everyone. However, I would encourage anyone to start with the bare minimum until you determine that you truly enjoy using the medium. Don’t over invest in expensive equipment at the beginning. I started with an Iphone 11 and headphones!

Completing a sound check with a guest.

And some bookish questions to finish...

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading the Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King, Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens and the Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison. It is a joy to have a few books open at once.

What book would you recommend to people?

Great Speeches of the 20th Century by Bob Blaisdell is an insightful and transformative read.
